I know how to build a pretty nice site/webpage professional looking, almost as nice as Musicians Friend, so if anyone wants to trade their gear for a bit of my web page expertise, i'm willing to build a fully functional webpage for some gear, you'll have to host it yourself and pay for a domain ($10/mnth, $10 one time for domain every year), but other then that add me on MSN: mkalman@live.ca or post here. Offer away.

Sadly, offers like this never get any action. Web design can be a good bit of money if the person doing the work is good at it.

Do you have any examples of your work?

I don't have any samples since this has been the first time I'm offering my services BUT I have built my own websites, and they are professional looking, I'd go in my own way to get a website template and set up the host and give you the login details but I need some descent gear if I'm going to put in 48+ hours into the website.

A small example is attached, I hope someone takes advantage of this offer. :)

What do the websites look like that you designed for yourself? Can we see those?

Good morning all, The websites I designed myself haven't been successful businesses so I just quit on them and deleted all my hosts, so there is no live previews, but I guess I can make a guaruntee <- is that spelt right? Anyway, I can guaruntee that you'll be happy with the website, and the website is designed to all your specifications, no questions asked. :) Not really much more I can do.

So, you want to sell us something, but you won't show it to us, and you've never sold anything like this before, so there are no references for us to check? You've been a member here for less than 48 hours and we just have to take your word that we'll "
be happy with the website, and the website is designed to all your specifications, no questions asked
. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Sounds reasonable to me. LOL.

Man, I'm just trying to offer my services, I don't want people to flame me and you can take my word on my designs because I'm such a perfectionist that if something is wrong, i'll make it right, and how is guaruntee spelt?

Sorry, that's not how the world works. You may have top notch web-design skills, but if you have no proof then you really don't have a leg to stand on when bartering for something of moderate to high value such as a guitar.

I'd also like to point out to that you are 14 years old, not to be a jerk, but if you're going to make an offer such as this that's information that a member would want to have. Web design is serious business, and truthfully at 14 you are not going to have the design skills of an accomplished professional. You may have the best of intentions, but you lack a reputation and a portfolio.

Also, nobody is flaming you, but really, just because you say we can take your word doesn't mean we can.

I can't answer for everyone OJ. Maybe someone here will want his services. I just expressed my own view. But here is an idea OJ. Why don't you let MJ build YOU a website where you can document your guitar build. Then at the end of the build, you give him the guitar you made in exchange for his services. It seems like a fair trade. You don't have an example of your handiwork and neither does he. You may pleasantly surprise each other in the end. Good luck to both OJ and MJ.:)

Man, those bolded parts are incorrect, I make some pretty professional looking websites, such as THE PICTURE PROVIDED, and you can take my word, because I'm Catholic, :)

Again, not how the world works. Nobody is flaming you.

The picture provided tells us nothing. I could make an awsome picture of a website on photoshop.

Yes, truthfully, at 14, you are not going to have the design skills of an accomplished pro. Pull your head out of the sand kid. If you could make web-sites at a professional level you could make upwards of $50K a year, easy. If you knew what you were doing at all you would know how to send somebody samples they could browse without having the site up on the internet.

No offense or anything, but did you spend 48 hours putting together that template site?

I built this in about 4 hours.

Anybody offering web work in trade for gear has gotta put up or shut up, IMO. Show your work.

And if you're gonna build a site for a musician or band, it's gotta have a little more personality than a site built from a template, IMO.
