Dave,

As long as your sister has not been adjudged incompetent, she is legally entitled to manage her own property and finances. About 11 years ago, I was hospitalized for a viral brain disease I cant begin to spell! It was due to an insect bite I had in the Caribbean. I was unable to manage my own financial matters — for about a week. That did not mean that anybody had the right to take over my affairs — and nobody even tried, thank heavens. For somebody to take over the financial affairs of another, it must be shown that the incapacity is permanent. And further it must be determined by the court who should be the guardian. This is not a quick process, not designed to be applicable to persons with disabilities that last only a couple of months. I thinking your brother is “jumping the gun” on this. Guardianship is not to be applied against a person who is just ill for a time.

Again, your sister is in my thoughts and hopes that she will have full recovery.

Wishing you and her all the best.

Hoping she makes the changes needed for better wellness, and I hope @LtDave32 takes a minute for some good old self care too after this stressful situation as I'm sure you need it, workload be damned.

I'll be home sometime tomorrow. We got everything pretty much legaled-up. I'm so friggin far behind in what I have to do in the shop, it ain't even funny.

But she's doing better. This is what's important.

But her lifestyle MUST change immediately. The combination of her diet and remaining rather sedentary is what caused this.

It's going to be WORK. And she's not going to like it. But if a regimen is followed, she will prevail.

-She doesn't want "Brother Dave's Boot Camp", that's for sure. She has to start off with baby steps. But baby steps and progress every day must happen.

Thank you all so much for your support, understanding and kind words. They meant everything. I truly know who my friends are around here.
Good deal! Hope she continues on the path to staying healthy!

Glad she’s getting better! I hope she has someone close that can influence her to make those lifestyle changes. I’m sure you know how it goes, they tell you “yeah I know I need to make some changes” but they never actually do it. She needs a walking buddy and someone to join in on healthy eating and healthier lifestyle. Without that support it’s hard even when people have a scare like this.

My dad got viral encephalitis from a bug bite It nearly killed him. My mom signed the DNR and there was a binding power of attorney in place. Thankfully, he survived, but it was a long recovery. I couldn't believe the damage done by a mosquito bite.

Tried to help you finish up some guitar jobs while you were gone. No thanks are necessary.

I couldn't find the bodies, but did find some old luggage in your attic.

Where's the shipping labels? I want to get these out before you get home.

The bag with caster wheels goes to whoever ordered the Telecaster type guitar. Sorry the color is wrong, but Walmart only has certain spray paints that I'm not allergic to. Get over it! I'm trying to help a brother out.
