What kind of car is that Cali?

06 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged. As you can tell I made it a true SS by shaving all the decals and adding the SS to the front grill and centered on the back. Loved that car. 2.0L supercharged, cold air, and cranking 14.5 ft/lbs of boost. That thing would whine so loud people would stare wondering what it was.

I think mine was a bit louder, that or I just got on it a lot harder.

that's serious boost!

Out drinking on night on the town. After I had lost the car. I run into this guy that had one at this party. I knew him from the drive thru. He put a stage 3, exhaust and similar intake. 19.75 ft/lbs of boost. That thing friggin scooted for a 2.0L

I had to give up a few in the past, one being my 2000 S10 Extreme that I still miss. It was lowered 4 inches total up front and 5 in the rear, shaved handles, cbr 600 motorcycle mirrors on it, custom lexan rear window with a license plate box in it, really cool head turner. Also had a 2000 Audi A6 with the Bi-turbo 2.7, that was fun. Most recently I gave up this one...

But luckily it was replaced with this...

CAli, GM just made a factory authorized add-on:

Turbo Upgrade Kit for Solstice GXP, Sky Redline, HHR SS
(19212670) MSRP $650

The turbo upgrade kit for the Solstice GXP, Sky Redline, and HHR SS was designed by General Motors Engineers to get the most power possible out of the LNF Turbo engine. This kit will take your vehicle from 260 hp and 260 ft-lbs to 290 hp and as much as 340 ft-lbs of torque. All this power and you will still be able to retain your full factory warranty. This kit is also 50 states emissions legal. This kit is a quick an easy install that will not affect the driveability of your vehicle in any way, but will have plenty of extra power when called upon. Because of the different drivetrain combinations there are several different calibrations with slightly different power outputs. They are as follows:

•2007 & 2008 Solstice/Sky Manual 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 340 ft-lbs @3600
•2007 & 2008 Solstice Auto 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 325 ft-lbs @3600
•2008 HHR SS Manual and Auto 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 315 ft-lbs @4800

This kit will also be available for the 2008-2009 Cobalt SS and all other 2009 Turbo vehicles Q1 2009.

I didn't know about the turbos.
When I bought the car they had GMPP stage 1&2 kits. The second kit would have put me at about the same with my cold air. Though the thought of a twin charged SS gives me a chubby.

Edit* I forgot they were taking it from super to turbo. :(

When I was in the market for a new car a few years ago I almost went with the Cobalt SS. I love the performance of them, but the interior wasnt on par with the other cars in that price range. They definitely have the pep though. I ended up with a Scion XB. HAH. I can cram every bit of equipment I own in it though.

If GM stays well , I'll look into an HHR SS in2010. Granted having a car that does 150 MPH from the factory is overkill, but I had one before, an '89 Taurus SHO. Man was that a fun 12 years! Yeah, I keep'em a while:D

Beautiful car. Love the "brick emergency brake!" Man old cars are fun. :D

Hah. I 1950 the futuramtic tranny didnt have park and when that was take I was working on the brakes. Its scary moving a car of that size with nothing but the E-brake.

Kernelofwisdom,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading that CL ad.:applause:

The '68 Camaro was my favorite muscle car, too bad I didn't have the money when I was still into cars.

Nothing was better than hanging out in the middle of no where important with a bunch of guys sharing the same things, cars, loose women, and booze...

Just bumping this rather than start a new thread. I've posted a few LP's on the local craigslist while also selling them here. I actually welcome the normal scammers compared to the self-appointed crusaders looking to show you they know some awesome thing about your guitar. In the recent case of the 86 Custom, the worst example is a guy who basically said that he could tell it was a Chinese fake, due to the logos and tuners. What??? Really??? Look at the pix! It's classic Norlin! Plus it's freaking awesome!!! The flash overexposed the logo sure, but c'mon.

I sent him a link to the for sale thread and told him to feel free to show how it was fake since everyone missed it! :laugh2:

People who deal in the retail business have my respect and awe, dealing as they do with the general public.

The Ebony Custom? So your saying Im not buying a Chinese fake? Darn it. :laugh2:

I actually have my own little retail store and I guess Ive been lucky, 12 years in business and only a handful of brain dead customers.

So did you ever sell that Beautiful Camaro or hang onto it?
