Im pretty sure the inductor in the 535Q has lost its mojo, its not sweeping right, replaced the pot, same issue. Its also lost its rich tone... Id replace the inductor but im about ready to turn it in and grab something new

So time to replace the old beast, any new groundbreaking tech to the wah pedal been invented lately?

I just got the Cry Baby Junior, love it! It is the perfect size, not too small (the mini is too small) but not too large. Has 3 modes. I prefer it to my CAE Wah.

Found the issue with the 18V 535Q! Switch had a loose wire, resoldered and shes back to running perfectly... the inductor in the older 535Qs are alot sweeter than the usual cry baby, she is a keeper... still keen for that cock fight plus though, hmmmm.

Well, for now i save some cash

I love the CAE with the fat sounding inductor. I’ve had modern and vintage crybabys, as well as Teese, and this is the best for me.

Havent tried the CAE, but the only wah ive found was close to the older 535Q is Area 51, i love the filter options on the 535Qs , and the boost... after you adjust the pot manually, fine tune the filter and Q... you can really dial her in to suit. I also added an area51 pot and a quality switch so she has an amazing sweep and plenty of life. Threw 2x green LEDs in there too, no mistaking if shes on now. Gut shot coming

Im going to grab a cock fight and try it out though, the talk box setting and fuzz... if the wah is nice all those extras are a big turn on

So many wah pedals sound the same, but the Jerry Cantrell Dunlop Cry Baby is really unique and has that dark mid tone of his that is unique. Check it out.

Go buy you a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe wah and never worry about wahs again for the rest of your life. Plus it is versatile with the side switch, etc... IMHO the best wah made, period... but it'll cost you more that the cheap Chinese-made Dunlop stuff... but you'll never need to replace it...

Modded the 18V 53Q to the bone, Area51 pot and switch installed, 2x green LEDs and grounded the metal fassel casing, extended the sweep control pot... she is insane now, left of the ES8 with the green LED on, she isnt going anywhere

For anyone looking at this wondering what new wah tech is available, i recently bought a source audio eq2 and it allows me to create my own wah with their dual expression, the flexibility has pushed me to take the cry baby off the board!

Not only can i sweep frequencies but i can sweep the q, i can choose 4 bands to sweep, thats any combination of 4 frequencies, Qs and frequency levels... and due to having 2 engines i can run a dry signal parallel with the wah efdect which means no mud on heel down, fcking incredible.

Im in the process of fine tuning the 2nd engine (dry tone) to counter any lost frequencies lost i dont want lost as i sweep, or sweep up to 8 aspects of my tone!.. pretty much a game changer. Lets not forget its main purpose is an eq pedal, this thing let me pull 3 pedals off my board and replaced them with improvement to each pedal i removed. Cant recommend this thing enough, im tossing between thos and the switching units (Ie boss ES8) being the most powerfull tool a misician can own

I HIGHLY recommend the new Crybaby mini auto-return wah. You just put your foot on it to activate it and take your foot off to disengage. Makes it way easier to randomly throw in some wah.

This is the wah that replaced my vintage wahs:

It is fully tunable so you can dial it in to get any wah tones you want.

Finally got a CAE 404 recently. Spent some time with the bottom panel off, tweaking the internal pots. It now sounds amazing in both modes. Love all the features. I've had 4 other wahs, and this one is my fav.
