Hello all. After not being able to really make friends with a Traditional I bought
a few months ago, I finally found a Les Paul that felt just right to me. It's a 2008 Classic, and it sounded better than any of the others I picked up in the three music shops I visited. Something about the way this one felt, played, and sounded just jumped out at me. I play mostly hard rock, so I love the "bite" these pickups have. I thought the Traditional was a bit too mellow sounding for my personal musical tastes. Oddly, I never really cared for ebony Les Pauls, but I just couldn't seem to (and still can't) put this one down.
Sorry for the lousy quality picture.

I thought Classics were discontinued last year?

That doesn't mean there are none left for sale.

Think of it like a car lot. they're not making 2008 models but there are still some for sale.

Thanks, guys. I can't wait to beat it up a little, give it a little mojo (over time, of course). I'm not exactly sure when they discontinued the Classics, but I always see lots of them around here in the music stores in N.Y. Funny thing is this is the first Classic I've ever played that I even liked the feel of. My Traditional sounded kind of "dead" to me, if you know what I mean. I guess it's true that you have to play as many as you can until the right guitar speaks to you somehow. Something about playing this one makes me feel like I'm playing better. Does that make sense? lol
