What's up everyone? I don't post here much these days but figured I would stop in and offer my review on the Badlander, since it seems to have generated a lot of interest/polarity. Haha

I will start off by sayingI am SUPER impressed with the amp. Like literally, over the moon. I have disliked every Rectifier I've ever played due to the loose and muddy low end and Mid placement in the tone stack. This amp seems to have changed the things I didn't like about the Rectifier gain channels, but kept the voicing, and added some more sweep in the mid pot for more available EQ dialing.

Immediately upon firing up, I knew it was a keeper. I don't have honeymoon phases with amps. I know right away whether I like or dislike, and I am loving this thing. Literally everything I've ever wanted a Rectifier to be. Tight, lots of low end punch, a little more in the mids and much more clarity.

I already have a Triple Crown, but...very tempted! I liked it with the Schecter. Out of curiosity, did you try the 100? Do you think that you're lacking anything with respect to the 100? Not volume I mean, but needed headroom?

Haven't tried the 100. I ordered the 50 as it was described as leaner in the low mids, which suits my taste.

Definitely no lack of headroom in the 50. I had it LOUD in this video, and stayed clean and mean. The only 50 watt head I've ever noticed heardoom issues with is the Single Rectifier, but they don't seem to be present with the Badlander 50

I was ready to buy a TC-50 until the Badlander came out. Now I'm somewhat torn, but honestly still leaning TC. From all the clips I've heard of the Badlander, it makes me think that Boogie had active pickups and 7 strings in mind when they designed it. Thank you for sharing and congrats!

I own a TC-50 and am EXTREMELY happy with it. Here's a link to my NAD post and review (though no demo):

I didn't even know that a new Rectifier was in the works, but because I have the TC-50 I'm not really in the market for a Rectifier any more. The Triple Crown is extremely versatile to me, and while I don't play a lot of modern metal, I do play stuff like Porcupine Tree, Opeth, and Katatonia with it. Here's a good demo that compares it to the older Rectifier with something of a more modern metal sound:

The John Browne videos that Mesa put out where he's playing the Triple Crown also sold me on it. Even though I'm mostly in the Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, etc. realm as far as gain goes, I wanted something that could also do more aggressive modern metal occasionally, and I think that's what the TC-50 does.

I haven't played the Badlander, but I can recommend the TC-50 for sure. If I didn't already own one and was looking at the TC-50 vs Badlander I'd probably want to sit down and compare the two of them side by side. I really like that the TC-50 has 3 channels, not sure if I'd miss that 3rd channel on the Badlander.

Wow, thanks for all that! Much appreciated!
