Tattoos are a great investment. They last life plus six weeks, they say. :D

Haha, back when we were 18, my first love, well she got my name tattooed, clear as a bell, right down there by the bush. I went ape when she told & showed me. She then proceeded to kick off with "So your saying were gonna split up" I was like "NO, im NOT saying that, but you never know do ya.."

She was a bit of a possessive freak, beat the crap out of me if I so much as glanced at another woman. Well, we split up further down the line. What a dafty :laugh2:

There's a girl somewhere with my name on it. :laugh2::laugh2:

I got 3 tats, love em all. It will become part of you soon enough. :thumb:

so she got the tat to guilt you into never leaving her... that worked well :laugh2:

:dude:

Ya go thru life, you make some calls, some fall yer way, some don't. A tattoo is a reminder of the permanence of ALL decisions, and I intentionally waited to get mine finished, so they'd look good in my old age! :naughty:

At the same time, I laugh my ass off at some of the "artwork" I've seen on folks...then again, I've been totally blown away just as often by something clever and/or compelling that someone has inked on their flesh.

The more people who get them, the less people left to be snooty about it. :thumb:

I never got any tats because my dad has one---He is 73 now and ever since I was a young man I have realized that tattoos on old people look like shit--I figured I would be an old people one day and the odds of me keeping my hair were slim and none--didn't want to ad insult to injury by having some stupid body art that would most likely be irrelevant by the time I was 40---I made the only good decision of my youth back then;)

being already arthritic when i was 18, i figured the least of my worries was how my skin would look when i was old... plus, i always liked the faded blue blob old man tattoo thing. apparently mine won't look like that though. the inks have changed.

no realistic fading and checking for me :D

Tat.jpg

For me, this one has meaning. After my mom died in a car wreck, on mother's day, that night in 2007, I knew I wanted to get something with her in mind.

I thought it would be cool to incorporate along with her, my dad, and two brothers in the tat. At the time I didnt know this, but in doing research for what tattoo I wanted to get, I ran across this piece of information. I had no clue that each month had different colors.

Well, my mom and dad were born in the same month (Oct), so, the middle flower represents them, although he's still alive, but still a nice idea. My Oldest bro is on the top (Dec) and my younger bro is on the bottom (May). Took me about a year and a half of looking up different styles of tattoo's, certain artists in my area and just idea's of my own.

My grandfather recently passed away in Feb, a few weeks after my birthday, so hopefully before the year's out, I'll add him in my own way to the tattoo.

Don't tell me you wouldn't be grinning too........................ cause you know he is going to "resist" at any moment after the camera goes away.

Nah. Using force on men in cuffs is HUGELY frowned upon amongst the rank and file. I know there will be folks here who don't believe that statement, but it's true.

Second that! But is it really "standard practice" to pose with a criminal like that in a photo?

I mean, obviously the police officer is smiling because of that "F*** the police tattoo" .. If soldiers would have done the same thing in Iraq/Afgh, they'd probably get a reprimand.

Whenever someone is locked up, pictures are usually taken of their tats, especially if they're gang related. That being said, it's usually done wherever the mug shot is being taken, not out on the street.
