My first Humbucker and MSSC wiring upgrade

I'm embarking on my very first humbucker and wiring upgrade installation for my EPI Les Paul Custom.

I bought the pre wired MSSC dual coil split harness. I'll be installing a set of GFS Fat Pats. I also bought a new pre wired 3 way switch and a jack.

For reference here are the GFS wire color codes:
North start = black ground
North finish = white
South start = green +
South finish = red
Silver ground wire

So here's what I'm assuming my humbucker connections should be:

Black and silver wires obviously soldered to ground
Red and white wires soldered to series link connection on the push pull tone pot
Green hot wire to unused lug on the volume pot

I'm also assuming that the two humbucker ground wires should be soldered to the back of the volume pots?

I'm going blind looking at diagrams on the web and just want to make sure that I'm on the right track here before I start soldering.

I would ask MSSC how to wire up the pickups to his harness.

ask Matt (MSSC), he'll walk you through it.

Take pics of your control cavity (or draw a diagram of it) ...that helped me a lot.



...and don't feel bad if it's not as pretty when you're done. Matt does incredibly good, neat work,..that's hard to match.

I figured I'd ask here first.

This is probably a pretty simple upgrade for someone who's done it before.

For a newbie like me not so simple.....lol.

just take your time, it can be nerve wracking.

remember to cover the back of your guitar with a towel so no molten solder or hot solder gun tips accidentally hit the guitar.

I contacted Matt and this was his response for anyone else that this may help in the future:

Black is hot - soldered to open lug on volume pot. Red+White is series link - soldered to tone pot wire. Green + Bare are grounds.
