Hello. I just want to share. I will pick up my first Gibson later. It's a 2017 Tribute T Gold top. Will post pix later. I wanted to share because someone might want to buy as well. I saw an ad in GC and I was hoping they would give a discount and sure enough I got a 20% off. I hope this helps someone make their decision for first time buyer like me or someone who wants another LP.

After a confusion on my order, I ended up getting this. Studio Deluxe IV. Got it practically the same price. I hope I made the right decision. It felt great playing it. Anybody else think this is better than the tribute T?

I have both a tribute like you were looking at and deluxe studio and the studio is hands down the much nicer guitar. I love both of them but the studio has a little special something that the tribute lacks, Happy New Gear day, enjoy that beauty!

Nice looking guitar. As someone already said, this model is better than the Tribute. I also own both. Congrats!

Thank you. This for sure will be forever in my possession. I still have my very first electric guitar From 24 years ago and I still play it from time to time. It's a Charvel CX290.

:welcome: to MLP and HNGD! That is a really nice guitar you have there.

Well, you got a guitar with what I think are better pickups and also got a hard case. The only thing I don't like between the two is the Studio Deluxe does not have the Slim Taper neck, and I really only like the Slim Taper neck on a Les Paul. But hey... that's just me, how do you like the neck on this one compared to the Tribute T?

So far I like the feel of the neck. It's easier to play for sure. Coming from an Epiphone traditional Pro, the neck is really massive and thick. I did play the tribute T. After they couldnt figure out my order, I ended up having a great deal on the deluxe for almost the same price. I can't really find much info on the guitar I bought, but I love the feel of it. While playing the deluxe in the store I didnt even notice that it has a 10 db boost. I did know about the coil split. As far as the pickups. It has Burstbucker 2 in the neck and BB3 in the bridge. I'm actually researching now on the difference between the classic 57's and the BB2/BB3 as the 57 was in the older deluxe.

COOL! If it "feels" right in your hands, then you got the right one. Personally, I really like what you got. The grain on it is really really nice.

I'm glad you plan on keeping it. I rather regret selling my first LP, if nothing else, for "sentimental value"

Well rjwilson37. Thanks for answering my question in the other post hehehe
Yep, the Burstbucker 2 and 3 are kind of like the original Burstbucker which was Alnico II magnets. Here is some info from Gibson. Maybe some people who own these types of pickups on there guitar can chime in.

BurstBucker™ Type 2 features medium output, and is perfect for both positions. BurstBucker™ Type 3 is overwound and hot, which is typically ideal for the bridge position.

I have Burstbucker Pro's in my Standard T, which are Alnico V and even more hot and brighter than what you have. But still, very clear and sound excellent through a nice amp cranked, very very clear and sweet sounding. The 490 pickups are ceramic and definitely hotter with a more modern sound to them and a deeper bass response to them for nice Kachunka with your amps mids scooped. My new Studio HP when I get it has the 490/498T+ pickups, so I will see if I like them and how they sound cranked through my Mesa Boogie. :headbanger:
