i have 2 old jackson pickups. a j50b and a j50bc. they are both paf replicas except the j50b is an alnico 5 and the j50bc is a ceramic pickup. they are both "bridge" pickups, although they are older than the new thought process of string spacing. by which i mean they are both neck spaced like old gibson pickups and still used in the bridge...
anyway these are both wound to about 9k and they worked with a bit of wax and plastic covers on to sound like a gibson paf. i have the covers off as they won't fit in the routing of my guitar, it doesn't matter though as i like the look and prefer the sound, i don't know what this does to the sound though. perhaps more highs and more bite? anyway is there any problems having the neck and bridge at the same resistance? they now have gibson alnico 2 magnets in. is it just a volume issue? i have lowered the neck pickup to were i like it. thanks.
