Umm.. good luck, and best wishes man.. I mean that sincerely. (Sorry, kinda been there/done that) don’t mean to be insulting, in any way..

the mornings are the most involved time of the day, getting him out of bed, cleaned up, into the shower, out of the shower, shaved, teeth brushed, hair combed, i'll leave out the details as its a lot. once i get him dressed i fix him breakfast, 3 scrambled eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, two pieces of toast, one butter one jam. i wash the dishes after each meal.

after he eats breakfast he goes to his chair and we basically watch tv most of the day. i take him to the bathroom every hour on the hour. i assist with that, but thats basically it until dinner time, which he eats a frozen meal, you just put it in the oven and set a timer.

on certain days of the week i do laundry and wash and change the bed linens. i vacuum part of the house as well. its a really chill job. and the nice thing about it is i have a full 10 hours to do everything.

i agree though you do need to be cut out for it. i just happen to be.

This new job has built my confidence in many ways. Its no clear cut plan to care for someone, its a lot of "what ifs" going on. you never know exactly how your day will go. i have a general idea, but when youre the caregiver for someone you have to kinda just go with the flow. i feel confident in this new position.

Bling, if there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that if you like/love what you do for a living, you're doing better than most. :thumb:

like my grandaddy used to say "if you love what you do you never have to work."

You do a job that most wouldn't/couldn't do. Much respect. People that do what you do are a rare breed and employers know that. You'll do great and have employment until you decide to do something different.
Don't sweat anything, Bling. We have an aging population that need people like you. I couldn't do it.

You are probably in the highest demand job going right now.

Do what you with the confidence knowing there aren't any others out there to replace you.

Good on ya, man!! :)
