My band's dilemma. (Long)

In the end, one has to go for Happy.
If it's too far from Happy, take the hard decisions.
Life is short. In 5-10 years, don't be the guy who says:
I really should have taken the hard decision and replaced so and so to achieve what I was aiming for.

If what you want is reasonable, go for it.
Compromise is good to a point. Too much and you lose yourself.

It's funny. Yesterday, I also handed the bass player "Get in The Van" (Rollins' tour journals from 81-86) and "American Hardcore"(punk book about the US scene from 80-86). I thought those selections would highlight the work it takes to be successful. Von Bass is in his mid 20's. I think, he was dumbfounded when I gave him A BOOK to read.

I got a text from him this morning. "Wow 'Get in The Van' makes our band look like nursery school."

I'm like, "Now you're really getting it."
