Hi I just got a 92 Classic that has a signiture in the neck pickup cavity and LPCS written in the same handwriting in the bridge pickup cavity. Can anyone tell me the meaning of the LPCS? My friend says it means custom shop and I am not so sure.

I have a 92 classic too, with HCSB. ( heritage cherry sunburst).
Great guitar, with the thinnest neck of all Les Pauls. Be careful on how you store your guitar. The neck seems to be prone to warping (mine was), not sure about others,

The LPCS that is hand written inside the pickup cavity is on the color you see. That is why I don't think it is a color code. This is most definitely not a refinish. That is what has us all so confused here. The top is actually quite flamey under the red. The pictures don't show the deep flame.
