Here are some photos of my 1959 Epiphone Les Paul Standard, in Iced Tea finish. I added a pickguard, and changed the amber knobs for gold, but otherwise it's original spec. I picked it up second-hand for £200 less than list-price and it's a great guitar for the money.

The plus top is gorgeous. It looks to be in new condition. Congrats and enjoy.
Is this one of the Limited Edition '59 LP's? If so it's got some superb upgrades on it.

Yep, it's the Limited Edition 1959 - the Burstbuckers sound great on it. I can hear the difference to my friend's Epiphone Les Paul Standard. The sustain on it is pretty amazing (probably due to the long neck tenon) and all in all it's a great guitar. I'm a big fan of these Epiphones with the upgraded Gibson parts - the hard case you get is great too.

I picked it up used for £450 (around $750) against the new price here in the UK of £650 (£1050), so all in all it's a bit of a bargain.

Yep! The BB's and long neck tenon is what I thought were in this model. BB2's and 3's are one of my favorite pup combos with '57 classics second. There is no way your new gal could sound anything but fabulous. Thanks for the info and HNGD. :applause:

If you struggle to get hold of a 1959, the limited edition 1960 Epi Les Paul is basically the same guitar (as is the Bonamassa model), and from what I've read on these boards I know that are stores in the States selling those at a fair bit less than their original list price.

Here's the case you get with these guitars anyway - as one of the posters said, make sure you get it if you buy a '59 or '60 Limited Edition:
