Hey folks...! Just got this new Tokai LC-2 (I think this is the model based from my research) Anyhow, this is my 1st ever exploration with LP -type guitar since I've been a very long time user of Strats and Ibanez! So far I'm liking it... I know, this is just cheap... but yeah... cheap guitarist here! LOL!

At 1st I was sceptic whether I will be able to capture a nice clean sound but, surprisingly, it really works great in Neck and it has pretty good bite to play some funky stuff! :slash::thumb:

I'm thinking to change the knobs to thoe traditional ones... thoughts? And also change the pickguard to white... what do you think?

man, that thing is beautiful. the only thing i would do is find
some gold reflector top hats and put on there. otherwise, it
would stay as is.

Beautiful but that is the most pointy horn and headstock I've ever seen on a Tokai!

Thank you folks, glad that somebody else also digs it! I'm so stoked to try this with our band this weekend! I'll be running this into a Vox AC15C1.

Question.. how do you guys avoid having a tarnish/ corrosion on the hardware? i.e. pickups, bridge, tuners... Mine is still.'ok' but my other Strat which has the same PUs is already tarnished.

Tarnish is a sign of use, consider it 'love marks'!

congrats, that's a very nice looking axe. is that a newer model? pm me what you paid for it. i'm looking for a mij black custom, and there are items all over the map.

as far as the ac15c1 goes, if you play with single coils with it, you're definitely going to need to do some eq tweaks between them, and the lp. i have that same amp, and it takes work to dial in good tones for either architecture.

do you use any dirt pedals with the vox? what kind of stuff do you play with your band? i've found (after much experimentation) that a good low gain od works best with that amp, and especially with the lps. i don't play any metal sounding stuff, though. the heaviest i would go would be maybe something along the ramones (just thinking about general dirt levels).

i auditioned quite a few pedals, and settled on a lovepedal od11. it's very nice, and doesn't get too crazy, like some of the other ods i tried (ocd, mad professor royal blue, etc). i'm sure a timmy would do just as nicely, but i never found one to try. the lovepedal works just fine.

enjoy that thing, and don't worry about the pitting/tarnishing. it's going to happen. :)
