Being a long time Les Paul guitar owner, I've been wanting to try something else. AC/DC being one of my favorite bands, I thought I'd give an SG a try. :hmm:

While searching online for both modern and vintage SGs, I ended up admiring this all-original (except for 3 saddles), no-issues 1962 Gibson SG/LP on RumbleSeatMusic.com! The asking price seemed reasonable, and after several back-and-forth emails with the fine folks at Rumble Seat Music, I pulled the trigger!

This beautiful guitar arrived the next morning. After a quick inspection, I plugged her into my Fender Blues Jr tweed amp, and WOW -- I was totally blown away! The tone on this beauty is warm, crisp sharp and woody, and has great sustain. Sweet!

congratulations Alex,
that is an absolute beauty and hopefully not as expensive as the Pawn Stars vintage SG that sold last month on Ebay

Congrats Alex...welcome to the club.
I never understood why people more people don't appreciate the early '60's LP's...(notice I didn't call it an SG).
They are surprisingly resonant, super light, and the PAF's offer great tone, and snob-appeal.

Wow!

I was looking at these the other day, there's a few 64 SGs with the standard vibrola for decent prices (I still can't afford one though!)

Congrats, they look great side-by-side

Congrats I used to own that one it is a great sounding SG. I let it go as a part of a trade into a high dollar guitar. I know you'll enjoy it and good luck.

That's incredible looking. A real nice piece.
If you have an extra $1100 hanging around maybe you should just go buy an SG standard and keep that original in a display case for admiration purposes only.
I seriously wouldn't even want fingerprints on that '62.
Unbelievable condition.

Very cool!!! I have an '01 R8 and a 64 SG standard and love both. They really sound differently and both are beautiful. I do love how I can get to all of the frets on the SG.
