Restoring the gold top was, IMO, a great choice, as the existing top was never attractive and aged to become ugly. I hope the rear PU has been squared, as the installation there, at least as pictured, was a hack job. That is an amazing guitar with all kinds of attractive aspects, and fixing the really unfortunate elements should allow the basic instrument to emerge spectacularly!
