I'm with ya on the shorts... If a cover band is wearing shorts and patterned shirts, I can be pretty sure I'm in for a yawn fest of mid-tempo low energy stuff played with average skill.

I'm OK with black. Ripped jeans are probably ok if you're under 25 or maybe 30 , but look rather silly on 50 year olds.....
