Murphy Labs still with flaking issues?...Sweetwater has a 60s light aged on sale

I was looking at sweetwater for a 60s murphy lab and they had one on sale , i was excited until...the picture of the upper bout has a 1 inch flake with what looks like deep red pore filler underneath ....Its jan 2022 i thought this problem was fixed ?....Can someone more tech savy then myself please post a pic ....Im afraid to buy this guitar if they still have issues...Why wouldnt sweetwater just send it back to Gibson ?

I have flaking issues. This dry winter air really brings it out. And sometimes I say I'll go to a get together someone is having, then I back out the morning of.

of Gibson yet.

From the serial number it is likely a January 2021 build or maybe even December 2020.

You see for serial 0 1030 it means 0=1960 model and 1 refers to build year 2021 and 030 means the 30th build of that model for that year. But likely the build started in late December 2020 which was during the worst time for the Murphy Lab outbreak.


I have inspected the specimen and I can say without doubt that yes it has a bad case of MURPHY-Tomocron Type B. But do not worry Gibson said it only effected 100 guitars or so. They say no chance it spreads thru the entire Murphy Lab. But they really should not have been experimenting with gain of function nitro in the first place...
