But then again, you think a cab ride to a different state in the New York area is a rip off at $200. He's lucky he even got a cab to agree take him there. He should have taken the MetroNorth train with the unwashed masses.

Cab ride from New Haven to New York = $160. Darien is a lot closer. So I can see $200 being a lot - but a cab FROM NYC could be a lot more, I don't know...

Darien is such a nice place too, figures a stabbing there would involve a millionaire being the suspect. .

You guys have found a great way to speed up the judicial process. No trial, no judge, no lawyers, no jury...all you need is a newspaper article and knowledge of the accused's career to render a verdict. Excellent!

That may be the case, but the banker claims that the guy attempted to charge him $300 after they agreed to $200.

I can actually believe much of the banker's side of the story given the cabbies I've encountered. I don't know if it justifies the stabbing; that's a question for the jury after they hear all the facts.

I find passenger's story somewhat credible right up to the time he whips out the knife and sticks the driver. At that point he goes from victim to obnoxious prick.
