Merry Christmas all.

My mom is hosting the family shindig this year, we're expecting 14 people total. My cousin Bob has been playing keyboard/piano/harmonica in a bluesy type rock band for decades...he's pretty good, and he knows a million songs....we've jammed a little at a couple of previous family gatherings at Bob's house on his girlfriend's kid's little Fender amp and Strat that happened to be there. So my mother just called to tell me Bob is bringing his keyboard today, and she tells me to bring my guitar. I don't really have an appropriate amp to bring (no acoustic). I have this little super crappy practice amp that someone gave me, that sounds awful....and a Marshall Jubilee 100 watt half stack. I'm not bringing the Marshall.

then your choice is simple. use the little crappy amp. unless of course a shop is open where you can rent an amp for the day. good luck with that though, it's Christmas.

she doesn't mind listening to the radio. but hwen i finished my song 200 lashes, which is not a kinky song despite the titel, she wasn't even interested enough to go see the link. she won't play any, and she won't have live music around her. i doubt she's even been to see a live band in the last 20 years.

she broke her heart on music and gave up. and now it's anathema to her.

but i agree with you. no music? = no life.

I was at a party at friends, and there was a guitar floating around, when I was given it to play, I strummed a couple of songs, and noodled around a bit, before playing some blues riffs, and a friend started improvising a song about his job.

Quite fun.
