Dark Shadows

I don't know if this is "common knowledge" or if it is super uncommon trivia. I've never seen a reference to it online.

This is "Dark Shadows" trivia about the TV show from the 1960s.

Who here is familiar with this artwork?

The first time I saw it I INSTANTLY knew what I was looking at. It's a game-piece from the 1969 "Barnabas Collins Dark Shadows" game.

My brother and I are almost the same age as Eddie Vedder. I'm a couple months younger, my brother nine months older.

I assume one of our shared experiences is having played this game when we were kids.

Even the Wikipedia page about the packaging and artwork don't mention this Dark Shadows tie-in.

I wonder when movies and TV shows will stop pretending that tracing a call isn’t instantaneous, and that the trace information continues to exist after the call is over.

I think they’ll still be using that trope even long after they stop pretending that guns make a “click-clack” sound every time you point them or raise them.

There's a new Trek series... and the Capt is Capt Pike. (pretty cool)

I'll put the first 2 episodes in our folder if anyone wants to check it out..

wow I was halfway through the first Star Trek episode before I realized 'Number 1' was Rebecca Romijn.

She looks totally different as a brunette. I'm used to her being a blond.

Amazing the difference just giving her very dark hair has done.

First episode was really good. It has that classic Star Trek feel and doesn't seem like it will be a serial series telling one big episodic story, but instead seems like it will be where each episode is a story.

Like the classic original series or Next Generation.

As the show was ending I thought, "this is the Star Trek we need right now."

Not woke, not lame, not pushing an agenda. Not trying to be dark or edgy. Just some nice classic-style stories that honor the original themes of hope and exploration.

I hope the rest of the season goes as well as the first episode. And I'm excited to see more of Capt Pike.

I'm firmly team Star Wars, I've never been able to get into Star Trek.

Also...not trying to say you dropped the ball, but I sent my wife a gif yesterday, all the other kids with the pumped up kicks better run, better run, faster than my machete.
