Starting threads is a bit like buying lottery tickets around here, it seems.

I started a "Buy it Now" deal of the day thread a few months back
because newer members kept posting live auctions that members here were watching,
and "Buy it Now" was less ambiguous about what constitutes bidding interference or suitable posts and what doesn't.
It was doing pretty well at 10,000 views in a month, and then it mysteriously got assimilated
into the Greco thread without any discussion or notice. :hmm:

I also started a MIJ Tele thread that got moved to the "other guitars" section where it quickly died,
because no one has MIJ guitars there, and then watched the very same topic reposted here
without issues a few months later. :hmm:
Not blaming anyone ... just strange is all.

I would at least remove the #2 from your thread title if this gets the stamp of approval.
The old one was ambiguous enough with Greco in the title.

I enjoyed that BIN thread, and wasnt a fan of it being merged with deal of the day that is now closed.

LtDave - i think a lot is being lost in communication cause this is the internet...
my comment was in no way meant as a dig at you, anyone else, or even referring to the whole situation - i just found it funny that there were so many bargain/buy it now threads emerging on the board! :)

ive moved on from the whole shebang and really just want to see forum go back to the friendly, knowledgeable, open and accepting place it usually is

Sir, you're absolutely right. -on all accounts.

Thank you sincerely. I appreciate it.

Furthermore, in the interests of goodwill, on behalf of the entire moderating staff, I would like to extend apologies for any personal remarks being over the top and beyond the scope of our duties. I can only hope that this will conclude "the troubles" in this sub-forum, and would appreciate from the membership an understanding that we do have to be here, and we do have to do our jobs.

This resolves the issue for me.

I think the buy it now is a better way to do these. There are probably around 10 people that regularly post the auction deals because the religiously check YJ. I have been checking YJ regularly for the last year or so and on and off for 6 years. I always thought that I shouldn't post any deals on here if I found something because it would potentially ruin a deal for someone else. I have occasionally PM'ed people when I found a deal on something I knew they would be interested in. Maybe it would be better to set the thread up so people can ask for help finding a particular guitar.

I am not complaining since I am not actively looking for anything currently. However, I have noticed there are less great deals even when compared to 2 years ago. My guess is that is largely due to a couple of guys that have made entire businesses buying and selling MIJ guitars. However, I also wondered if a few of the threads on this forum have contributed.

I'm in the USA, and I have a bunch of MIJ guitars, mostly Burnys and Grecos. Can someone explain to me the process of buying a guitar on YJ, from beginning to end? Every time I go there and start drooling, it ends up being a waste of time, because I don't even know where to begin. And I can't figure out the shipping, etc. Some of you guys seem to really have a handle on it... I'd appreciate a walk-through. Thanks in advance!

This should have most of the answers you are looking for, and if nothing else will get you going in the right direction. Your wallet however will not like you, as if you buy 1 successfully, it becomes addiction lol

What label is this?

box-s-naj4idh63jqgcscbos5w4xxu7y-1001

It's on a 1981 Greco SA-900 with not such a bad price here.
