with trees all around the house, i had to do something about the gutters. they'd fill with leaves all summer so almost every other week i was cleaning them out.

so i did the instant expert thing on YT and found that micro mesh gets the most love of all of them. i had the ones installed on the high gutter when the gutter went up. but now i went all in and did the rest of the house with them.

install was pretty easy and i can't see how any shit will get in these things, they are very firm but ice/snow is heavy. we'll see how they hold up.
if anything, i've just guaranteed that it won't rain for months.

does anyone else have these? how did they hold up?

I’m getting them put in as I’m tired of cleaning my gutters four or five times a year.

all joking aside....take off the gutters

my dad did that to a house and for 35+ years watched and laughed at neighbors trying to do all the latest gimmicks then they would just give in and climb up the ladder and clean them out by hand.

they key being there was no basement in the home and the water would end up in the gardens around the house watering all the flowers and bushes...never a problem

did install a small L bracket over the front door to keep you from getting soaked going in or out.

and appearance wise it looked fine....actually alot cleaner look

it may be an idea...but if you have a basement, maybe not

I want to get just 2 for two back gutters on my porch that stick out and collect leaves in the fall. Worth a shot. It's just tall enough that my ladder doesn't reach.

I had those on my old house and they work pretty well. Depending on the pitch of your roof, some buildup can occur on top of the mesh. You can just run a broom over it though to knock off any debris.

It really just depends on what type of trees and debris that you get. What's to keep everything from just laying on top of the mesh? Then it is clogged and you are back to square one. I fight gutters yearly.

they seem to stay clear of debris, wind or rain push everything off them. i checked the ones that went on in the spring and they're mostly clear on top. there's one spot i brushed some stuff off.

i have a basement and flower beds with mulch, no gutters isn't an option.

as long as they don't collapse, i can't see how they would fail. they're pretty rigid. also, i couldn't find these at any of the big box stores, so i had to amazon them.

All of the gutter "systems" have flaws and drawbacks. They can be stupidly expensive and some are more trouble than they are worth.

We simply had oversize gutters and downspouts installed, and clean them (or get them cleaned) twice a year.

No problem.

i have an oversized gutter on the front of the house, oversized downspouts and they were filling up enough to overflow in 2 weeks. so about every other time it rained, i had to clean them out. fuck that noise.

Gutters. One more reason I'm glad I don't live up there anymore.
Fucking gutters.

we saw a similar one at the Home show before the Wuhan Flu hit. we had reserved on but cancelled because of a lack of income. we were able to still do siding and the front steps/porch thank goodness. i'm done with the house for the year now.

and it's still warm enough out to enjoy it.
