I'm talking about live performance, we all know about pop filters and distance to the Neumann in studio, etc.
When you're onstage do you get up close and personal (lip touching) the mic to get the most input as possible? Or do you maintain a few inches for the sake of moderation/control?
Personally I tried to get close up, back in my gig days for the aforementioned reason. But I sometimes wonder if that was the best approach. You?
