I think most of you know MHD from this form. If you dont, you should
I think most of you know that MHD winds some killer high out put pickups but I'd like to tell you about 2 of his lower out put pups.
I have both the 86/87 and the 5150's. Let me just say this, he winds a hell of a pickup. Nice and full, fat, rich and warm but still with great note separation.
The 86/87's flat out rock. They tear up 80's tones but aren't limited that that era only. I've found them to be pretty versatile. They clean up really well and will cover Blues, Classic rock, 80's and even up in to some harder metal tones.
The 5150's are a little lower in output but man are they sweet. Blues and rock tones for days. Roll the volume down and they clean up beautifully. I'm able to get a really nice clean to slightly broken up tone with my volume knob rolled down and then I can roll it back up to rock the house!
I still find it crazy that I can get such a great set of pickups at this price and I highly recommend MHD. High or low output, they just flat out rock.
