Hi ! I’m trying to figure out if my vibrola
Is mounted in the right way on my melody maker. When I string the guitar with it
And try and set my action the strings are barely touching the bridge.
if I rise the bridge everything works break angle is simply not there and action is way to high to be played

Ah. Neck relief is there but not so much. Pretty straight.

You do have the spring facing the correct direction.
Where is the rest of the Vibrola?

I had a couple of SG Specials in the past with Short Vibrolas. I removed them and strung the guitar up with the Wraparound Bridge only.

Rest of the vibrola is sitting in the case asking to be loved. Maybe the neck angle is to shallow ?

I have a 67 SG melody maker and I had the same problem. I need my bridge all the way down to the body to get even close to a medium action. The neck angle is simply too shallow. If you really wanted to use the vibrola I would imagine you could try to flatten the spring some so it would sit lower to the body. I’ve never tried this and you could possibly ruin the spring. Maybe buy another spring to mess around with.
