Junk? JUNK !!! .. my good buddy roman has referred to my tools as 'junk' .. i am deeply hurt (just kidding) .. those 'junk' tools have served me well .. i built some great guitars with those tools ..

i admit they ain't pretty but they are definitely sturdy and durable .. otherwise they wouldn't have lasted these 20 years .. those tools were made way before everything started getting manufactured in china .. the motors on the belt sander and the band saw have been replaced with industrial quality motors .. the bandsaw has precision german made ball bearing guides .. i can cut a line as straight as any laser with that thing .. the routers may need some new brushes someday but right now they work fine .. the dust collector and the drill press don't get nearly as much use as the other tools and should have plenty of life left in them .. i dare say someone could still build a lot of nice guitars with these tools ..

for those who haven't read between the lines, i am not really interested in cash .. if someone pops up with $20,000 i won't say 'no' but i'm really interested in trades for vintage gibsons .. especially TV juniors, TV specials and SG LP's .. they're dropping pretty fast, why not dump a couple on me ..

i am going to let the auction run at least a couple more times before i consider breaking up the set ..

i'm counting on the fact that there is someone out there with a bit of foresight and creativity who can see money in those tools .. (and i dont mind bailing him out of some vintage gibsons he's already lost money on) ..

those tools have seen a lot of history, history that has yet to be told (???)

i wont be answering any questions here on the forum .. direct any SERIOUS inquiries by e-mail to me or jim .. .. best regards and thanks RFR ..

There is NOTHING wrong with putting sizzle in a description for sale!! Just because many who have commented here have no interest, that does not mean ONE person on the planet may not! It only takes ONE person to want to pay for this equipement, and it may take several tries to reach that person on Ebay.

Why do people pay MORE for certain things if sold by "Madison Ave" vs some other guy? It is the SIZZLE. I think Max should have naked women standing by each piece and maybe that would grab some attention!!

All points taken into consideration, the guy is only interested in selling / trading the stuff to get some vintage guitars to retire with. Nothing more, nothing less.

So he wants to sell his copy making equipment so he can buy the real thing?

I love this forum. Where else can you read conversations from building legends.

Enjoy it while it happens. At some point, the builders will be gone, and folks will wish they were still around.
