Hi guys.. I'm just wondering if Matt's Epiphones are made in China?,, and also I've heard that Gibson and Epiphones are running short with ebony and that they 're not making any guitars with ebony fingerboards for a period of time.. So, is this guitar really has ebony fingerboards on it or will it turn out like the new Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy? (for what I know, the old Prophecy EX and GX were all ebony fingerboards and the new ones were all rosewood)

..also I'm looking for a LP custom with ebony fingerboards for less than $500 (I prefer the old Epiphones)

Sweetwater only have the 7 string and all 4 in stock were made in Indonesia and have ebony boards. I do not think they will change to a rosewood board on that model.

If you're looking for one of the Customs with an ebony board, look on eBay. They didn't seem to produce very many of them and they were never advertised as having an ebony fingerboard. That just seemed to be an unexpected bonus for those who bought one while they were available.

Oh yeah...if Gibson runs out of ebony in the US, that will have no effect on the Asian factories.

Indonesia ??.. Have you seen or played one of these models? if you did, how does it sounds?.. by the looks and specs, this model hits the price right.. What I don't like about this is the back binding; it doesn't have any.. lol it doesn't look right for a les paul custom without the back binding., damn those "Axcess" Heel..
