I had the unfortunate experience of putting my dog of 15 years to rest this week. Got him when I were 25 - near 40 now. He taught me a great deal about myself, my world, my limitations. He was mostly responsible for my wife falling in love with me in the 1st place and subsequently my daughter being brought into this world as a result. He changed my life, pure and true. This is testament to the unconditional loyalty of the canine animal and the power that they can have over us. A friendship with an animal, such as this, is wholly different than a human relationship. I will remain forever grateful for having him as part of my life through such a long and pivotal time.

A fierce, noble and gentle friend; they won't make another like him. May he rest in peace.

It's not an easy thing to have to do. I had to do the same for my namesake, Gyro, two years ago. At least you have your memories; and he'll visit you in your dreams from time to time.

Sorry for your loss... Sucks to see a family pet go.

It's totally unfair that (in most cases) we outlive our dogs. A good one really is the most loyal companion you could ever ask for. I'm sorry about Crow Dog, but be happy in knowing you gave him the best life he could have asked for.

There's nothing like the unconditional love of a pet. Sorry to hear about him.

What a great friend! Morn then celebrate his life. Today's sadness WILL turn to fond memories and comforting stories. Just give it time.
