Can anyone who has one tell me why they like their Bigsby trems over others? To me the system always looks more at home on a 335, or a 355, but I know lots do like them so I'm asking the reasons. I know some prefer them for the vintage look, but are they better than any others? No sarcasm either please, I'm only looking to hear actual owners chime in.

Ok, that works too. Always good to hear the negative too.

They can be a pain to restring....but I suppose after you do it a few times....

Also there isn't much travel, the whammy on a strat "type" is more effective.

But they have their own kind of Warble....I had an ES330 with one and its did the trick, but not my favorite piece of equipment.

I have owned so many Gibsons with Bigsby's that restringing them is EASY. It's more of a shimmer than a tremolo.

Do they not get used in the same way either? I've never gotten to play one with a Bigsby on it, so I don't know. Just assumed they were like all other trems, just an older version of it.

I've never understood the comments (and there are a lot) about how restringing a bigsby is such a pain, and the stringspoiler thing, smh

but yes, a shimmer is a much better description. I've have my fair share of them, but in the end, I never use them much.

A well cut nut and saddles go a long way to keeping them in tune

A goldtop with a bigsby is a wonderful thing.
