I think I'm gong to pull the trigger on one of these this weekend. I'll have my local GC order it. I called and they said that the do not stock these. They offered 10% off, so I wouldn't order thru Musician's Friend. I also have 3 guitars collecting dust here that I want to get rid of, so I have half the thing paid for in trade. Anyone here have one of these? Opinions?

it says "Available in three finishes: Heritage Cherry, and Gloss Yellow."
thats only two, unless "and" is a new color no one told me about.
i don't own this particular model but it seems to be same specs...
i advise you pull the trigger good sir, and post a NGD on it!

I noticed the three colors too. :laugh2:

I hope to do just that this weekend. Then another week to wait for it. :(

the week will be worth it my man...
DC specials and Juniors rock!
what kind of amp do you have?
it says it comes with a thin line case, wish they sold those alone, but the Gibson Gear cases fit my Studio and SC Jr. nicely.

I have a Mesa trip rec. I love this amp. It's the most versitile amp I've ever owned or tried. My Trad-Pro with P90's sounds awesome thru it. My JJMM sounds awesome thru it. My trad-Pro with humbuckers sounds awesome thru it. Just wish I played better. :D

It says thinline case. I'm assuming that's a hard case?

Good luck with it but I have to say, I'd want to see / play before I bought.

I have a gloss yellow and LOVE IT! One of the best playing and feeling Gibsons I have. I really like the slim taper neck. Mine came with an ebony fingerboard and it still look like they retained that.

The finish GLOSS yellow is really nice. the photos do not due it justice. It is very opaque and you can see the wood grain thru it.

I have a 2010 version in Gloss Yellow. It has documentation with it that is was made for the market in Japan. I have no idea what that means but the build quality is superb and it sings like a bird. Can anyone tell me if they know anything about Made for Japan Gibsons or was it all BS?

Bounty! I humbly ask: Did the pic of my Special DC have anything to do with you pulling the trigger soon? The MIJ is more of a marketing distribution strategy I guess. It's good for a company to have products "non-available" form time to time to create a buying "frenzy" when they are actually available. Just look at Disney Classic movies, available for a certain time and then you have to wait for the next edition. Gibson might have wanted to release that particular model in Japan only. In fact , I have seen some of these guitars for sale on ebay by a number of vendors, all guitar shops so I guess the success of the operation in Japan was not as big as planned and some of the production had to be "unloaded" in the USA.
