You should NOT buy from strange people on the internet without getting help. There is a lot you have to learn. BTW a Les Paul Custom is not always going to have a CS at the beginning of the serial number. In fact, most don't.

My understanding was that prior to 2004 this was the case, but that the Custom's manufacturing was moved to the Nashville Custom Shop in 2004.
