Hi,
I am an amateur but eager guitar rescuer. I like to buy old guitars that need a bit of love and work on them.
Locally there is a black 1980 LP Custom for sale at $1600. It has seen better days. But I'd love to bring it back to life and give it some attention.
There are two main things that I have no experience of:
1. The neck is currently stripped. The seller says there has been no neck break and from the photos I would believe him. Would it be that difficult to refinish the neck black again? Would this need to be an experienced Gibson guy, or could any guitar guy do this?
2. Much bigger issue: The "s" of the Gibson logo on the headstock is scuffed. Could this be worked out or refinished in any way?
Thanks for the help!
