WOW, Thank you for a VERY informative thread!

thanks :thumb:

Hey 73,

I have the Barlett Templates coming and I wanted to know two things.

What router bit did you use for the backplate cover route with the templates?

Also the bit for the binding channel? I assume the binding channel was a 1/2" cutter with a 3/8" bottom bearing.

man, i have been away for a while and do not remember. i will try to research what i did and get back with you...

Also, Couldn't you have just sanded the top close with the spindle and then routed the binding channel to get the top correct?

not sure i understand the question, but am really tired to tonight. can you elaborate...

Hi 73Custom, my first post! Can you tell me where I can find such a case? Thanks!

SUPERB build
Congrats.
Pickguard is the only thing I would change. B/W/B

thanks

Hey buddy..start your Hunterburst project...I havent been excited on this forum for a while (actually the Diablo thread is very interesting)

want to, need to wait for warmer weather and some additional funds right now... but soon...

Just spent three hours reading this thread - seriously inspiring stuff.

I am DEFINITELY doing a scratch build after seeing this...I'll start thinking now, stock up on hand tools and look for wood. Maybe I can start the build early next year.

Great colour choices and amazing work. :thumb:

Ha... Did it in 2 hrs and 56 minutes :)

But seriously.... Thanks for the Saturday morning read. Looks great.

That is one damn fine build you did there. Thanks for the ride along.

This the second best build thread I've ever read. I first saw it this morning and that eliminated any chance of getting anything else done today. Read it beginning to end.
Thank you

The only thing I do not like are the speed knobs but it is your guitar and you built it THE WAY YOU DAMN WELL WANTED IT. lol That is sure pretty,. I love the figure on it. And the white really makes it pop.

Why did you use those orange caps? I heard they suck

If you are referring to Orange drops they DEFINITELY don't suck. Are there better caps out there? Probably. I have drops in my Bulldog with 50's wiring and it kicks the hell out of my 76 Custom in tone, usefulness of the controls, etc.

Hi, not sure if this is the best place to post this question but here it is anyway. lol .. I was just wondering what plans you are using? I have the Stewmac & Catto neither of which have the routing depths for the pickups cavities etc.. I could probably just measure the Les Paul's I have but does anyone know of another set of plans with these details I could use in conjunction with the ones I have? Any input will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks, Jason

As you can see from this post here:

The plans from Eastern Maple Carved Tops are being used.

They can be bought from Tom Bartlett here: Plans
