So I am converting my ESP over to passives. Of course I will be drilling a ground hole to the tailpiece because there is not one there. This got me thinking about stuff like what if I want to use peizo or other non-metallic saddles (nylon anybody?)?. Or what about aluminum tailpiece/bridge parts or even zinc? How do these materials affect the conductivity of the bridge ground and ultimately the noise level of an LP with less/non conductive materials? -Frank

Well if you change to saddles that are non conductive, you need to have the ground wire go to the tail piece to keep the strings in the ground circuit.

and Aluminum parts will ground just fine.
