Services were yesterday. I was not surprised that well over 150 people showed up for the service, though she was such an unassuming person SHE would have been shocked. She had no clue how special she was, she was too worried about everyone else.

One of our other sisters and I used to jokingly call her Super Soccer Mom, because she practically lived at her kid's schools volunteering her time for any number of school functions. No less than a dozen people stood up to speak, most of whom were teachers and students whose lives she had touched.

My heart bursts with joy and pride that she was so loved by so many people, but they will never know her the way I did. She was my rock, the other half of myself, and for a long time the only reason I forced myself to get up and face another day, and even tho we spent the vast majority of our adult lives 600 miles apart, I always knew she was there for me. Now I have to learn to do it all without her.

I just hope she knows how much I love her.

Thank you all, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Moods keep swinging back and forth, as I'm sure it's going to for some time to come. Still haven't wrapped my head around the fact she's gone.

However, this rough time has provided me with evidence there still are good people in the world: My co-workers handed me a card that everyone signed which was very touching and most appreciated. That's not the :wow: part.

Inside the card were two tickets for the Sept. 8 Giants game versus the hated Dodgers at home. Section 105 , Row 2. Literally 50 feet from the bullpen catcher's spot, just past 1st base. I've no idea idea how much they spent, but those were NOT cheap tickets. I can't afford that section.

I get irritated with my co-workers sometimes, but they sure are a good group of folks. That they would do wha they did for me because they knew I was hurting really means a lot.

Thanks for this post. You've helped restore some of my faith in people. :thumb:
