Got off the phone with my brother in law a few hours ago, the autopsy results came in. Apparently she had stage four kidney cancer and never knew it. She was having symptoms for a couple of months, lower back pain, lethargy and other things, but the kidney's somehow never got checked. This is a woman that went to see the doctor religiously.

The one thing she feared most of all was getting cancer like our mother did, and sure as shit that's what happened to her. The one saving grace is she was spared the horror of knowing she would leave her kids behind.
