Many of us have owned pets over the years and have experienced it, it is sooo difficult at the time you almost wished you never got a pet in the first place, but then you turn around later and get another one because their love is so special and worth it.

All your MLP friends will miss Blitz, too. We share in your sorrow, but know your tears will become fond memories.

Here's to all our late little buddies.

You're a good man Nicky.

Sorry for your loss.

I hope that the 12 years of memories that you have will bring some solace.

My apologies, man. I know the feeling. Lost a cat about a month ago. I'd had her since I was 7.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I recently lost a pet of nearly 17 years. It's never easy.

Dear HRC,

I am very very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. A young guy I know from church had to do the same thing yesterday, his dog was only 8, she got cancer in her paw.

All I can say is, your Dog was/is a gift from God, I truly believe we will see our pets in heaven, or next dimension. Love, positive energy can not be destroyed.

God Bless

Sincere condolences. Be glad for the time you had. And be glad for the fact you could give him a dignified departure. I am absolutely sure that they know what you are doing and thank you for it.

Keep him in your heart. Dogs are special.

cheers

I'm sorry about your buddy. He looks like a wonderful dog. That's a tough thing to do and it hurts like hell. Been through that with four dogs so far and it's never easy. I have 2 black labs right now and I tear up instantly when I think about the day coming with them. I feel for you man.

Sorry for your loss, but if he was suffering it was the right thing to do. Making that decision is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

For all those who have lost a four legged friend, always pass this on. This was written a long time ago and still holds true.

The Power of the Dog
by
Rudyard Kipling

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passsion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart to a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But ... you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to another pup to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-term loan is as bad as a long--
So why in--Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

It makes me very sad to read this. I got tears in my eyes when I saw the picture of him with the Santa hat on!

Sorry for your loss.
You showed him all the love and respect he deserved by taking him
to the vet for the last gesture of care you could offer.
He was lucky to have you guys.
