I also called and asked Guitar Center if they’ll apply their holiday discount and the sales guy said they would take another 15% off that $900 price too. Hard to turn that one down…if I hadn’t just bought the ES-335 I’d be all over this. Glad people can get these again at a reasonable price.

You can almost always get 100 bucks off what ever guitar your buying if you call and talk to a rep. Every guitar i have bought in the past 2 yrs cept for my Tribute I have gotten 100 off. So at 779 thats what 129 dollars off the price of the 59? I got my first 59 for 620 after tax you just have to call these guys and deal with them...

I was lucky enough to get one from Sweetwater on Thanksgiving morning. Stated “demo” and has a small anomaly on the headstock...they knocked $100 off. Being “demo” would that infer they are not going to have them in stock anymore? Reason for not having a demo available?

IMHO flame top Les Pauls shouldn't have pickguards. I wish they would have not been installed from the factory to avoid holes in the guitar, but it is what it is.

Tossed mine along with the hideous stock knobs.

Should keep going and remove the poker chip.

As for the screw hole, you could either put the screw back in or dowel it, stain it and a few drops of super glue on top.

That is a good deal, indeed. I’m spoiled, though, with Sweetwater letting you see the exact guitar you’re going to get. Something like this, I don’t know if I would want to go for it sight unseen. The tops have been all over the place, some good, and some just meh.

I had been on the fence as I really didn’t need another Les Paul, but I have the Bona V and the new 335 and they’re such great guitars! Thanks again for the head’s up, much appreciated! The website still showed at least one more in stock after I purchased it, not sure how many they had. That 59 has a gorgeous top, someone def. got lucky…esp. for $600! I hope some good karma comes back to you for sharing the great deals!

It's for sale wh ever gets that walks away with a sweet 59 !! I talked to the guy he said he's more a Gibson guy that he just wanted what he had into it. Looks like he scraped the binding cause that thing really pops!! Wish i had the balls to scrape my ADB

I said I didn’t want to buy, because I didn’t want to get one sight unseen. Curiosity got the better of me, and I did it anyway, price was too tempting. Guitar came today, and the top looks like ass, worst one I’ve ever seen. Taking it right now to return it. So much for a good deal, I’m going to have to pay return shipping, and they’re going to deduct the free shipping from my refund. Lesson learned.

Ah, that’s too bad. I’m not concerned about the top at all with whatever shows up…especially at that price. I have other Les Pauls with very nice tops so I’ll be happy whether it’s a plain top or flamed.
