We are seriously wanting to relocate--get out of the mid-west.

We are wanting to GTFO of Indiana, and the Mid West as a whole. I will be taking myself, my wife,my 7 year old son, my 14 year old daughter 2 dogs, maybe a cat and a rabbit.

I am not looking for big city living----BUT, living within reasonable proximity to a city with shopping, good food, night life and a little culture would be nice.

I live in a town with about 10,000 people in it, including the college. I would like to live in a smallish town, like the one i live in, but am not against this town, being near a larger city--30-60 minutes.

We love the outdoors and we need places to roam, hike, exercise hunt and fish. Quality schools is a must--By quality, I mean--no gang problems, quality education, teachers and administrators that give a damn and get results. I don't care how fancy the football field is, or is the pool is Olympic size, Good kids, good teachers, great staff and an accepting student body-

We are looking for a home--a place to live and eventually die. A place where the town folks are accepting of people that are not from there and will accept and me and my family and support us in whatever business venture we chose to pursue.

I am really open to anywhere. I want to know who here lives in what they think is the greatest place on earth-

A place that is laid back, supports people's dreams, and encourages kids to dream and shoot for the freaking moon--i.e. I don't want to move to a place where everybody works at the mill, and they think everybody else should as well.

I want clean air, low crime, a place where kids and dogs are welcome--as well as fly fishing, longbow shooting, gun toting, grumpy ass guitar hacks such as myself can sit at the local coffee shop, bitch about politics, disagree with my neighbor, and then invite him over the grill a steak and drink a few brews later in the evening--

I have lived in this town for 21 years--I ****ing hate this little Peyton Place, Stepford wive community---Looks cool from the outside, until you have to actually experience the shit--

I like the ocean, the mountains, the prairie,, shit man, I love all parts of this country. I am easy--The desert kind of sucks, but hey, Scorpions gotta live too.

If you live somewhere like this, have lived there or at least visited it, fill me in---

I am very open minded as to where we end up----:thumb:

I have a friend that lives in Cuba----Cuba Illinois---:laugh2:

Well, the heating cost would be low, and the kids would get that free education in commie re-education camps --

I was thinking something a little less--COMMIE

Sounds like you want to live in australia!
Load up with les pauls and head on down! :thumb:

I am pretty sure I could live in Australia or New Zealand--

Never met a person from either country that I didn't feel an instant connection with---IMO both countries share the same adventurous spirit as most Americans--

I'd move there tomorrow---:thumb:

I'm biased, but you could do a lot worse than Austin or any number of smaller towns surrounding it. Laid back, lots of interesting music/cultural stuff, mostly friendly people, a relatively good job market... I'm about to relocate to just such an environment myself.

Depending on what you really like, Houston has a lot to offer the right type of person too. Cost of living is cheap compared to most places, and it's really a dynamic, diverse city in many ways.

...might mention the type of employment you and your wife will be seeking...

;)

We'd love to have you out here in Eastern Montana!

Well Dice, that's the rub--I want to completely reinvent myself--I have worked in the electric utility business for most of my adult life--Lineman, Substation Technician, technical training specialist--ect.--I could give a damn if I ever heard the words killowatt, ampre, volt--ever again. I'd do it if I had to, but really, I am ready for a change.

My wife has an associate's degree in early childhood education and is working towards a elementary education degree--She runs an in home day care and has for several years--

We are both open to starting over---

Well snaresy--Its got some cool folks living there---And you never have to worry about sun burn!

you say that, but every three years or so when the sun comes out, every moron in england (most of the population) decide to go and sit in the beer gardens of pubs and drink bad lager with no suncream on. it's like a tomato convention after half an hour.

then they all fight. great place.
