i used to think since i play at mostly low volume these days, pickups should not make that big of a difference ....ok i was wrong...i stumble across a 2007 set of Lollar P90s on reverb and pull the trigger, then i was stalking a 71 gibson LP husk on eBay and got out-sniped on it which was perfect for the P90s....dam it now what?

i was going to route a 93 lp studio i stripped a few years back but thought better and grabbed a guitar i put together a while back, i did need to take a Dremel tool to get them to fit...but dam the sound these things make is crazy good...i am real happy with them, and now will probably looking to replace the pickups in my two firebirds and maybe more...

these are crystal clear and they ring like a bell, very crisp and a very noticeable wide range with a only a single tone pot...had to keep the low volume as it got late, but they will get cranked

here is the pic and yeah you can see the route but i dont care, it feels great and sounds amazing, i have enough guitars......now it is time to swap some pickups in and out...i used two 500k CTS pots and an orange cap...seems to work fine.

Lollars are worth the money in my book, there is a difference

Nice going Judson. I have a 2011 LP 60's Tribute that came with P90's. Didn't care for them so I replaced them with a set of old Gibson mini's. That was my second go round with P90 dissatisfaction so I had sworn them off. Then I picked up a 73 Deluxe with P90's that I love, haven't pulled them yet to see what they are but was told they are Duncans. Gonna have to listen to some Lollar reviews.

They sound real sweet here. Of course it always helps when it's a guy like Tim Lerch that actually knows how to play.

i have the stock gibson minis in my 72 GT and thats what got me thinking why my tone sucked in most of my other guitars so i started exploring.....the minis are staying put in the 72. i am keeping an eye out for another firebird or les paul husk that is ready without any mods...

its gotta be my old pickups that suck not my playing right?...

they sound like the demo, but my notes dont come out in the same order and tempo of Tim's:rofl:

try set or one if you dont like it someone will grab it, not alot on the used market, i also passed on a set of 3 firebird pups that jason wound himself for a customer years back, they went for a reasonable amount but my lack of knowledge, i didnt know what they were at the time.

i asked the seller and he said they were just their standard pickups back in 2007, here is the original box that was included , no special markings or type shown , just P-90s as you see
