Unfortunately, that is not unique to Zeppelin live albums, I think most, if not all live albums have some edits. One of my other favorite live albums, Thin Lizzy's Live and Dangerous, is full of cuts and edits as well.

I wish Mr. Page would release more official live material, there are so many amazing bootlegs out there that many people will never hear, which is a huge shame. Hell, even their '77 American tour has some incredible shows.
Judas Priest-Unleashed In The Studio...still a great album.
