Not a lot of basketball talk around here but this kid is CRAZY!:wow:

Great story taught the game by his 5'6" immigrant father who just wanted his kids to have something to help them fit in and stressed fundamental play. Highschool star that never got a D1 scholarship offer so he went to Harvard to play D1 ball. And he comes off the bench in the NBA and takes over!

Fearlessly drives the lane, great court vision, great jump shot, gets to the free throw line, AND STICKS DEFENSE!!!!!!! :applause::applause::applause: Plus he seems like a humble guy who was raised well. He's playing like a superstar!:slash:

when mello and amare are back in the line up with the way Lin and chandler have been playing. And how much their bench has stepped up... The knicks are gonna be dangerous

He's doing very well. IMO. But when Carmelo and Arme come back it's going to take some time for them to fit back into the team. I think Arme will do just fine with a decent point PG but Carmelo could be trouble, imo. I wish the guy the best.

I could see that argument and it's legitimate. I think the saving grace though is that Lin is the PG so Melo can just focus on scoring. If they are smart they won't change the game plan and will leave Lin to drive the offense the way a good PG should. Plus it will be damn tough to guard all 3 of them

I'm worried (as a Lin fan) and relieved (as a Celtics fan) that when Carmelo and Amare come back, they might have trouble playing together. That's 3 guys that, when by themselves, take over the team. Having 3 guys on one could be trouble for them. It could also turn out trouble for everyone else in the league.

I officially jumped on Lin's bandwagon when he said he was going to go in the locker room and watch tape at halftime. That's dedication in a league that seems to have trouble with that.

I can see Lin keeping his playing time and I hope Melo can adjust.

His contract wasn't guaranteed till last Tuesday, so Lin has been living on his brothers couch. Hmmm, uncommon common sense for the NBA.

I like Lin, but I don't think Melo can adjust to anyone. If they don't all adjust to Melo, the train wreck will go right on there at Penn Station, IMHO:)

+1000 Melo has not done well with the team and the record shows it.

Melo doesn't stick D unless he is up against one of the leagues stars IMO that will be their downfall if they dont make it. I also think thats why he was soo good in denver he had 4 other guys to pick up the slack on defense. And I think he played some of his best ball with chauncey at point.

Tyson chandler sticks D, Fields Defense isn't bad and now with J Lin at the guard they have a little a better Defensive push. Moderate team Defense with the team rebounding they are capable could make a difference in the playoffs.

Now if they got Amare and Melo to play defense consistently(doubt though I have hope for Amare) they would be as good as anyone in a 7 game series

It was great to see him torch the Lazy Lakers. The guy can shoot! That's he proven. How long can he play at this level, hasn't. It's a long season & a lot of these teams are just trying to reach the playoffs in good shape. I'm all for the underdog, but things will be a bit different come playoff time. If he's still playing this well he could be a great asset to NY, even if all he does is draw double teams. I wish Melo, for once, would become UnMelo. Maybe he needs this little upstart to show him up a few times to get him going. :thumb:

Frank DeFord wrote a good story about Lin being overlooked for many years:

Looking For Lin In All The Wrong Places : NPR

"But none of the geniuses — not one scout, one coach, one general manager — could see what everyone sees now when it's fashionable. None of the people paid to envision, could envision.

Obviously, some of it was simply that Lin wasn't the right heritage. No, I'm not saying basketball people are prejudiced against Asian-Americans. It's just the usual common stupidity of stereotyping. It wasn't just a matter of race. Scouts tend to be uncomfortable with anything different."
