even gibson makes some that are metalflake...i wouldnt pay 3k for one but i do kinda wish id kept the ol epi

So, how are they like in real life? Is the colour clean, like in these pictures, or sparkly?

Mine arrived today. It's nowhere near as sparkly as those Metallic Flake Les Pauls. That being said, It DOES have "some" shimmer in the finish, almost like a little bit of blue glitter. You only see it in the right light though, from close enough. Otherwise it just looks like a really nice shade of blue. I'll post pictures of mine to these forums tonight when I get home.

I think it's a cool idea. I fell in love with the Gretsch 6120 I saw Brian Setzer with a couple years ago. Big gaudy red flakes, just beautiful. You say this is fairly subdued, where's the pics?
