Always loved the way 50's Black Beauties sound - fat, warm and sweet! Here's my clean '56 LPC. Lightweight, about 8.5 lbs.

Where you ever able to buy this one back?
1958 original 3 pickup with changed tuners and one change control knob. Killer player with a 59 neck profile and original big frets. 9.5lbs dead on, later period case. The sad part is that I sold it yesterday. The good part is that it has gone to a nice guy who is a great player and a real vintage connoisseur.
Lovely stuff!
Here's a couple of mine:

Beautiful guitar. Just curious about the neck profile as you mentioned you're considering having another guitar's neck shaved to match this one. Are custom necks comparable to standards of the same year or are they slimmer? My '57 Alnico - it's the best playing guitar I've ever owned. I'm thinking about having another guitar's neck shaved to match this one. It's perfect. Weighs between 9.5 & 10. Came with some Cornell Dubilier caps, which were OK. Replaced them with some vintage bees, and it really helped in dialing in tone. A PO blocked the bridge pickup, but I think it's a bit high. I need to bring it down a little to balance them out. Great guitar. So far, it's the one that's going in the coffin with me..!![]()
