My blacked out White studio. Here's the kicker though, this thing is actually bone stock. It's from a limited run Gibson did on the 60's studio LP, I think offered through GC. Alpine White, All Black Chrome hardware, Black knobs, black grover tuners, and an ebony fret board to top it off. It's similar to the studio deluxe, including coil taps on both pickups (496R, 500T).
Specs: Gibson.com: Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s

Nice guitar, would look even cooler if you modded it to have black binding!:dude:

I wouldn't have expected a comment like this from someone who's been here for a while. I don't see YOUR Studio with "gutsy" mods in here. So I'm thinking there's no reason for you to bash on others' guitars.

Ric
Check mine below. She plays equal, or better than an LP Standard...In my humble opinion of course

Shame the thread is quite old. Here's my faded studio with cream plastics and gold knobs that go to 11 (that's louder than 10)

Here we have my 2007 Vintage Mahogany...

-Refinished in Fender Shoreline Gold
-Stinger added (no, not to cover a repair)
-Neck has been strategically stripped of nitro, leaving it only raw, SMOOTH mahogany
-PUP covers removed from burstbucker pros
-Black plastic switched to cream
-ABR bridge with brass saddles
-Knobs & trussrod cover changed

And I think that's it. I may be missing something. But everything else is stock, wiring, pots, nut, etc.

Really nice work!

Thanks man. I wish I could claim it as my own. (The work, not the guitar). I got it that way 6 years ago in a trade. It's definitely my go-to and plays like butter. The seller was a Fender guy (hence the shoreline gold color) and I'm a Gibson guy, so I traded him a strat for it. He got the better deal if we're talking stock value, but I got the better guitar imo.

Y'know, I was going to post my studios... but now I'm not sure that replacing the pickups, caps and 50% of the hardware counts as "modding" :hmm:

So what counts as modding?
Oh Master of Les Paul Studio Mods.

2006 Studio Premium Plus.

I purchased this Studio new in September 2006 from a GC in Tampa. It came with gold hardware and 490r/498t pickup combo. I changed out the pickups to double cream Dimarzios... DP223 in the neck position and Dimarzio DP224 in the bridge position. I also changed out the gold hardware to nickel, Gotoh aluminum tailpiece and Gotoh Nashville bridge. Grover vintage green key tuners, and various other nickel screws, and other nickel hardware pieces.

Something that's really cool about this Prermium Plus Studio is the Flamed Mahogany neck and headstock!

What's the tone difference like from having the rhythm pickup backwards? Is it very noticeable? Is that to emulate someone famous?

Not exactly mod'd per se, but the 2009 all maple "Raw Power" is definitely rare.

Raw_LP_Studio_1.jpg

What an awesome studio, the complete opposite of my vintage mahogany, but even that has a RW FB, yours is all maple.

I see only 2 of yours for sale online, and neither has the natural finish. One blue, one black. You'd think they'd sell for more considering the lack of supply. The raw power Standards in your finish are more common for sure.
