if you must have your garlic sliced thinly, or whole uncrushed cloves (good for roasting) try one of these works great. you want to make sure it's dry. it's a silicone cylinder.

Pop the clove in roll it on the counter for a second or two and the skin separates and leaves the clove intact. You can blast through 3 or 4 heads in minutes.

Ain't that the truth. I only use garlic powder for stews and soups, and even then it supplements and not replaces the fresh garlic. I go through 3 or four bulbs a week, and peeling all those cloves is a sure way to kill more time than you have. But golly is it worth it!

Don't try and peel garlic cloves, roll and crush them gently-ish between your thumbs and forefingers until they 'crack', the skin comes right off without having to pick at them.

EDIT - I see others (Square) have mentioned using a knife blade to do it, I don't find that necessary but the principle is the same.

I made Roberts Marinara and Teledogs Sourdough bread a couple weeks ago
for a friend and she loved it. Both easy to make and taste great. I still have
some Marinara in the freezer but have too bake up another batch of Sourdough to go with it.

Watch for the Shrimp Fajita thread shortly.

Sourdough also works real good if you wanna make TX toast, or even french toast. Try a grilled cheese with sourdough, you'll see! Also, it works great with home-made burgers.

Glad you liked the recipe.

OH YA thanks for reminding me. Just went down and took some Marinara out
of the freezer and got the fix'ns out to make some sour dough for tonight.
Got lucky the last time I cooked for a friend we'll see how things go tonight.
