I am really a newb regarding recording software. I bought Studio One last year but never even really got around to trying it until tonight. I surprised myself at how quickly I was able to put this together. It took less than two hours.

I have been on Robin Trower kick for like 6 months, so I decided to record "Day of the Eagle". I got the backing track from YouTube (user Guitar Jam Tracks).

All guitars are me, the backing track is just bass and drums.

Guitar
Line 6 JTV89F Variax on Spank (Strat) setting.

Modeler
Line 6 Helix with Glenn DuLaune's Robin Trower preset. I replaced his cab block with a 3 Sigma 1960v 3b IR.

Nice job Rocco. Sounds like the track is all ready for vocals. The guitars sound a little subdued. Maybe you need to record them a little hotter, or bring them up in the mix a bit.
Here's a rehearsal recording of my band doing the Eagles, Get Over It. It was just recorded to a hand held Tascam sitting in the middle of the room. I'm using my Helix and DXR12. I'm not sure if I used my Variax on this night.

You're right. I am having a hard time getting the levels up without clipping. I guess more compression.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. That particular patch is so hot that if I let go of the strings before I start playing, there's a plethora of sound.
Playing in the band is what keeps me sane. We just got a new bass player a few days ago. So now we have to get back up to speed for a gig on St. Patrick's Day. Should be a good one. Can't wait to show off my amp on a pole!

For modeling stuff, I've been using an Eleven Rack for a few years now, and this past year picked up some of the UAD plugins and have been having a lot of fun with those. They make it so easy to just plug in and get great tones right off the bat. If you haven't seen Pete Thorn's demos of them, I highly recommend them.

Here's a clip of my Eleven Rack (and a rubber chicken)

And here's me butchering the 'Hot For Teacher' solo with the UAD Friedman plugin.

I'm just glad to finally meet another studio one user! :applause:

I've used it for several years and have bought the producers version.

Haven't seen any love in here yet, so I didn't bring it up till now, but if I can help in any way (with studio one, your playing needs no help!) let me know!
