Those Gems were awesome, my brother has/had a couple of them (I can't keep track of his guitars, he has so many he has them stashed in three different locations so his wife doesn't know). I think I would have gone with 50's wiring, but if the treble bleed works for you, enjoy it.

I looked inside the cavity last night, removed the treble bleeds and wired it 50s style

Sounds so good like this very crisp highs with full mids and bass! But the tone and volume controls together has some getting used to, aswell as finding out where balances the middle position..

Update: swapped out the bridge tone capacitor for a Paper in Oil .33uf capacitor and removed the guitar string ground connections from my tone pots for some vintage cloth wire last week

Wow!!! That's a stunning guitar. I don't think I've heard of the Gem Studios before. Glad I know of them now! Congrats on your first LP!
